Where to find the code
The security code is printed on the label or the certificate of conformity, usually under a scratch-off panel. Here are the common places.
1. Scratch-off label
Most labels have a silver panel. Scratch it gently with a coin — do not use a knife, it can damage the code.
2. Certificate of conformity
On a certificate, the code sits on the “security code” line, usually bottom-left.
3. Seal or hangtag
Seals and hangtags carry the code on the back, next to the QR code.
What the code looks like
It is exactly 8 characters: digits and uppercase letters, but never the letters O or I (they are too easy to confuse with 0 and 1).
Example: TK0JZGRY. Spaces and dashes are ignored, and lowercase is fine.
If the code is not accepted
- Check for characters that look alike: 0 vs O, 1 vs I, 5 vs S, 8 vs B.
- A code that returns “not found” may be mistyped — or the product may not be genuine.
- A code that returns “voided” was cancelled on purpose (recall or channel cancellation). Contact your supplier.
